Special guests Chris and Claire Andrews and Jim Sallie joined Jonathan Tagg in a service of celebration of the past, present, and future of The River's ministry in the New River Valley.

Matthew Joss provided context for the parable in Luke 19.

Pastor Jonathan used this parable in Luke 16 to how ways we should and should not be like the shrewd manager.

Jesus uses this parable in Luke 18 to show the disciples to always pray and never give up.

In the  Parable of the Fig Tree recorded in Luke 13, the man who took care of the vineyard implored the owner of the vineyard to allow him to tend to the fig tree so that it might have more time to produce fruit. The vineyard owner symbolizes God; the man who took care of the vineyard symbolizes Jesus that advocates for us, symbolized by the fig tree.

Dr. Tim Johnson, Executive Director of the Bradley Study Center, continued our sermon series on the parables of Jesus. Dr. Johnson used Luke 13 to illustrate that following Christ is a fight that requires work but we must know Him or we will be separated from God for eternity.

In Luke 15, Jesus uses the parable of the lost sheep to illustrate spiritual lostness. Like the shepherd who pursues the lost sheep, Jesus is always pursuing us.
